My First Book

I am here to say that the first book I designed has been approved and sent to the printers. The finished books should get here sometime within the next few weeks. I'm not super excited about this cover because I had to base the design on a different book the author wrote. But, I still get a free copy when they get here and I can say I designed the cover on it. Here it is.

New Job

I am starting my new job on April 14. I got a job with a publisher (CFI--not that I'm super proud about that--but it's a design job) designing book covers. I'm so excited to design for a job! Who thought that I could do what I love to do for money? So I'll let you know what covers I design so you can see them (but that's not necessarily a recommendation to read the books).

Caucus Meeting

Dustin and I went to the Caucus Meeting for our precinct tonight. It was nice to feel like we were involved. We got to vote for some of our state delegates and county delegates. I had been feeling so helpless about what I could do for our country cause Obama is making me worried. And upset. I liked being involved because it gave me a little release for my anxieties.

Cedar City

Dustin flew solo again today to Cedar City. He even made it home. :) So that was a pretty big step and now all he needs to do is keep flying for a few more hours to get his license! Yay!

Gypsy

So Dustin started calling me a gypsy one day and has never stopped. I don't know what makes him think I'm a gypsy but he is convinced that I am. So last night and was bored because Dustin was at Scouts so I decided to dress up like a gypsy.

I figured if Dustin thinks I'm a gypsy I should at least look like one.

Solo

Today is a big day for Dustin: he is flying his first cross-country solo. He is flying to Delta and Fillmore. It's pretty exciting really. He has been wanting to fly his whole life and now he is. I'm so proud of him. He is the best in his ground class (he has over 100%) and he his ahead of everyone in his flying. I'm going to go down to the airport when he gets back to take his picture, so I'll post those later.

I finally made a blog for Dustin and me so now you can all see what's going on with us. Dustin is working and I'm going to school. That's all for now.
